He loved pie, sparkling cider, mashed potatoes, and Tofurkey (until age 10 when he moved on to Turkey)
My most memorable ones were:
Lev enjoying serving drinks at the bar at Mario and Elizabeth's.
All of us enjoying making seven pies for a staff Thanksgiving in Monteverde, as we had the biggest oven, and on the way to Ivan's house the whipped cream turned to butter due to the bumpy roads.
Lev insisting on dressing up to go to Johan's Sue Ellen's and wearing a little blue bow tie in sixth grade.
Our last one together, we went on a trip to Canada, with John, Jeana,Lucas and Roz to visit Tina and Ricardo and family. We spent Thanksgiving day in Victoria, and, as Roz reminded me last night, she and Lev loved the miniature museum, and then we found a hotel that was serving American Thanksgiving. At Tina and Ricardo's we went sledding, and enjoyed hanging out on the ferry on the way back, the adult discussing how cool it was that the kids are the same ages and have been friends since they were born, together in Costa Rica and Seattle, they really knew each other.
... now there will always be someone missing from our holidays.
It seems like last year we were living someone else's nightmare.
This year, it has become our own.
